To supplement this, I also studied some Physics at the Physics department of Humboldt University. For my thesis, I worked on efficient algorithms for Automatic Music Transcription. It includes modern Signal Processing and XML technology, implementing it in a Free Software package (JWS). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Work Experience (paid) ====================== * Software Engineer WORK Microwave GmbH, Holzkirchen/Germany July 2009 -- present Work Microwave GmbH develops a series of high-frequency devices for satellite communication, navigation and radar for which I'm developing system software, host computer tools and computer networks. * Software Engineer Philosys Software GmbH, Munich/Germany February 2005 -- June 2009 Philosys is a consulting company involved in UNIX clustering, telecommunication, graphics software for BMW car simulation and Embedded Linux for mobile devices, where I was involved in different respective projects. * Programmer, System Administrator Epigenomics AG, I-Systems department, Berlin/Germany March 2001 -- March 2002 At Epigenomics AG, a German/US biotechnology company, I took care of a heterogeneous network with Linux, Solaris and Windows workstations and servers and developed an integrated LDAP infrastructure in Berlin/Germany and Seattle, WA. * System Administrator Hospital Oranienburg/Germany July 1998 -- August 1999 During my alternative civilian service, I also worked in the computer systems department of the county hospital, helped to administer an OS/400 / NT network and installed the first Linux systems for email infrastructure and internet access. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Free Software Projects (voluntary, spare time) ============================================== * Developer Debian Project September 2003 -- present At Debian (the largest GNU/Linux distribution) I'm maintaining 19 source packages, including dia, jasper, musixtex, latex2html and gnubiff.
